The beadmakers of Venice are undisputably the best in the world. This necklace is comprised of 12 mm vintage Venetian beads from the 1950s. These beads are called end of the day beads. This was the time of day when the glassblowers were allowed to let their artistry loose. After a long day of making detailed flowers, glasses, and vases, they would take their remaining glass, which was too valuable to throw out, and make beads in whatever pattern suited their fancy. This necklace is expertly knotted using the finest Gudebrod silk thread. The necklace is 24 inches long and is comprised of 47 individual beads. It is finished with a gold-filled lobster claw.
