These beads were made in India in the late 1980s. They are a good replica of a traditional chevron, the African trading bead. Because they are completely hand made, there is some variation in size. They range from 25 mm long and 20 mm wide to 27 mm wide and 16 mm wide. It seems the longer they are the narrow the bead. The chevron has a matte sand-like finish. The hole is quite large and can accommodate at least a 3 mm cord and some can take a 4 mm cord.
