These are special beads. I have seen them out on the open market advertised as ancient Moroccan beads, African beads, and all sorts of other things. But, in reality, they are hand-made beads from Czechoslovakia probably made during the late 1950s. In addition to the beads made by mold, Czechoslovakia had a thriving hand-blown glass bead industry. These are from that time. I found these beads in their original boxes and each bead was lovingly wrapped in cotton. I wish that I could send them to you that way, but, alas, they were stored in a basement and the boxes and cotton were a bit funky. The beads however, are still perfect! This is a wound glass bead where the dark color is wrapped around a central core. The orange is diaphanous with some transparent parts, some translucent parts, and some opaque parts. The bead is 20 mm from hole to hole and 16 mm at the widest point. The hole is petite and would accommodate a half millimeter string.
