With five loops hidden beneath the butterfly wings, you have plenty of design options with this whimsical clasp. Properly balanced, you could use just the middle ring for a single strand, or any of the other rings for a two, three, four, or five strand necklace. The head of the butterfly pulls up and the two wings separate to open the clasp. The stylized circles on the wings are representational of the intricate patterns found in nature. There is a heart hidden on each wing. This butterfly clasp offers a bit more detail. There is a twisted rope design climbing the side of each wing and a little flair at the bottom of the center hides the fifth loop so that there can be a bit of space between the rings. This clasp is sterling silver and was hand-made in Istanbul. The widest part of the wing is 34 mm wide and the highest part is 23 mm. The five rings are nicely spaced at about 3 mm apart. It weighs 10.3 grams.
