Blue starry sky clasp

This is a vintage piece of Czech glass bezel set in a hand-made sterling silver box clasp. This foil effect is one of my favorites. Small pieces of metal foil are embedded in the glass to give it the look and depth of a starry sky at night.The predominant color is dark blue and the pieces of gold foil are almost opalescent.These centerpieces were made before WW II and destined for the thriving costume jewelry industry in Rhode Island. WWII and the need for all metal for national defense meant these pieces sat in warehouses for decades. I was happy to find them and give them new life in our own line of clasps. The clasp is 27 mm from ring to ring and 18 mm wide.
